We are delighted to offer FREE SHIPPING on all orders placed on our website.
How long does it take to process an order?
We use Royal Mail for all of our deliveries. Our products are handmade and are usually made and dispatched within a couple of days for delivery within 2 - 5 business days though this can be longer for larger orders. Please allow between 2 - 10 business days for larger orders.
If you are unsure as to whether you will receive your order in time then please email us at email@example.com before you place your order and we can give you a more precise delivery time.
Do you provide tracking?
Yes What about bespoke orders? All bespoke orders can take up to 4 weeks to be made. Please be advised, bespoke orders are non returnable and non refundable.
Due to the nature of our handmade products, we are unable to offer refunds for products that have been used. If you would like to claim a refund for a defective product for instance one that has arrived broken, please first send us an email describing the issue at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note we cannot accept any returns that have been used, including candles.
All returned goods will be examined upon receipt and we will process your return as quickly as possible and will notify you by email once your refund, replacement or exchange has been processed.
Our returns policy is 30 days. We will only accept returns for items that have been unused or that are faulty. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we will be unable offer you a refund or an exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Please be advised, our Bespoke Fragrances cannot be returned. This includes reed diffusers, perfumes and candles that have been made to order.
To complete your return, we will require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org and send your item to: 17 Northanger Road London GB SW16 5RX.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over £50, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance.
Where are your products made?
Our products are made by hand in our small studio in London, England.
What ingredients are used in your Candles?
We use plant wax (usually soy wax) in our candles, with either a natural cotton or wood wick and a blend of high grade pure essential oils and absolutes in our Aromatherapy and Massage Candle ranges and IFRA approved fragrance oils in our other candles.
What's wrong with paraffin wax?
We do not use paraffin wax in our candles because unlike soy wax which burns cleanly and evenly causing no black smoke, paraffin releases petro-soot fumes into the air which can be harmful to the lungs. In contrast, soy wax is a wonderful alternative. It is a natural product that is derived from soybean, and unlike paraffin which is difficult to clean, soy wax is gentle enough to be cleaned up with only soap and water. It does not create soot so you can expect a long, clean, even burn.
When will I get my e-voucher for your Perfume Workshop Experience?
You should receive your e-voucher within 24-48 hours after booking. If for some reason you still haven't received it after this time (please make sure to check your spam folder first before contacting us as it often ends up there) then you can email us at: email@example.com, quoting your booking reference and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
What do your Perfume Workshops include?
Our perfume workshops include all perfume ingredients and materials, cupcakes and prosecco, a complimentary notebook, fragrance chart and your 12 ml bottle of perfume. If you wish, you can also upgrade your package and have your personalised scent made into a candle, reed diffuser or perfume.
How does your Bespoke Fragrance service work?
Having a bespoke fragrance created for you is the perfect fragrance expression and a great way to have yourself or your home smelling exactly the way you want. For our bespoke candles, you get to choose your wick type, your dominant scent and your fragrance family and then we will create your candle with a bespoke fragrance making your candle truly unique. Can you explain more about your Bridal Fragrance Service?
Of course! Our unique Bridal Perfume Experience is for brides to be looking for a unique gift of their own signature fragrance to wear on their wedding day or on their honeymoon. It is also available to couples who would like to create a fragrance together and for hen parties too. A perfumer will help the bride-to-be choose the scents she would most like for her perfume and then the perfume will be made and sent to her in time for her special day.
Where are your Group Perfume Making Experiences held?
Our group perfume making experience days are usually held in Hatton Garden, London though we occasionally use other venues in Central London.
How much do the Perfume Experiences cost?
Prices start from £95 pp and include all perfume making materials, a notebook, fragrance chart and profiles, prosecco and cupcakes and the chance to have your personalised scent made into a candle, perfume or reed diffuser!
What if I can't make the date for a workshop I have booked?
Please email us asap at: email@example.com. We try to be as flexible as possible for our customers.
How do I reorder my fragrance?
If you have attended one of our Perfume Workshops then you will have had a reference number assigned to you. Please email us at: info@thesecretscentsociete with your requirements. You will be able to order a 50 ml Perfume, Scented Candle and/or 100 ml Reed Diffuser.
Which products are 100% natural/use only essential oils?
We respect that some of our customers would prefer to use products that are all natural and it is important to us that we remain transparent about what goes into the products that we make. We have a large range of products made exclusively with essential oils and absolutes which include our Aromatherapy Candles, our Massage Candles and currently, all of our Perfumes.
Why do some of your products look slightly different?
The beauty of handmade products is that each one is unique but this does not diminish the quality or the performance of them. Our products are made in small batches by hand with love, care and attention in our London Studio. They are not mass produced or made in a factory.
What is the burn time of your Candles?
The burn time varies but generally between 30 - 60 hours depending on the candle size.
Are your products tested on animals?
How long do your Perfumes stay on the skin?
The staying power of a fragrance depends on a few things - what type of fragrance you choose (whether it's a light, fresh scent like a citrus), what the fragrance contains, and whether it's an Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum or Parfum etc.
Each type of perfume is made up of different components and strengths - pure perfume has the longest staying power but it is also very concentrated so is generally only worn in the evening. You can expect our Eau de Parfum to stay on the skin for somewhere between 4 - 6 hours though perfumes made with essential oils tend to be less powerful then their synthetic counterparts.
What is Hair Perfume?
Hair Perfume is a way of fragrancing the hair. Our Hair Perfumes are made without alcohol, which can leave the hair dry and brittle. We use a combination of pure essential oils and delicate floral waters which is gentle on the hair aswell as wonderfully fragrant.
Can bespoke scents be returned or refunded?
No. All bespoke fragrances, including those made by us or following one of our perfume workshops are non refundable.
When will my products be delivered?
Our products are all handmade from point of order however we aim to deliver all orders within 3 - 5 working days. We will send you tracking once your product has been tracked so that you track it with peace of mind.
Do you have other stockists?
Yes, however we are online only. We also sell our products online at notonthehighstreet and DecorAList.

With guidance from Tori Jackson, candlemaker, artisan perfumer and owner of fragrance brand The Secret Scent Société, you will learn about the history, art and science behind perfume making, choose your fragrance notes from a carefully curated selection of raw aromatic materials including precious essential oils, and make your own perfume to take away with you on the day.
In this hands on workshop you will be working with beautiful high quality raw aromatic ingredients to create a well balanced perfume that is uniquely yours. What is your favourite type of fragrance? Citrus, Floral? or maybe Herbal? - in this workshop you will be able to choose and make a personalised fragrance to match your mood.
With a background in natural perfumery and experience in creating high end, bespoke fragrances for clients, Tori is passionate about both making and teaching perfumery and champions the use of natural ingredients by providing mainly essential oils in her workshops.
Our creative, interactive perfume experience is located in a stunning, historic location on London's famous Greek Street -in the same building where Elton John signed his very first record deal and opposite the famous "Jazz After Dark" bar where Amy Winehouse used to perform, so you may very well be rubbing up against the musical elite!

Our Coronavirus Policy
The Secret Scent Société is committed to the health and wellbeing of all of our customers and keeping you safe during this unprecedented time of Covid 19 is our highest priority.
We will now be taking extra precautions during our Perfume Workshops with the following measures implemented:
Venues especially chosen to allow for social distancing
The room will have been thoroughly deep cleaned beforehand using products that are EPA-approved
We provide protective gloves to wear during the workshop
Hand Sanitiser provided

Our perfume making workshops are suitable for people aged 18 and over only. Unfortunately due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate any additional people who haven't booked a ticket for the workshop. You will receive an email once you have booked your ticket so please check your junk folder incase the email has gone there. Please be advised: Tickets to this event are NF (Non-Refundable) however we are more then happy to reschedule your workshop for another date if you are unable to make the date you have booked provided you give us at least 48 hours notice. Please also be advised that our classes are usually well attended but if we do not not achieve the maximum capacity expected we may reschedule it for another date. Should we need to reschedule we will give you at least 24 hours notice. By booking with us you agree to these terms and conditions.
