Oriental Perfumes are some of the most loved fragrances in the world. Their mysterious and sensual allure is unparalleled in the fragrance industry and some of the most popular fragrances belong to the Oriental fragrance family.
Rather then their being just one Oriental group, there are infact a number of sub groups that make up the Oriental fragrance family but they all have something in common - their characteristic sweet warmth and depth, with a woody, vanilla/amber base.
Here are a few of the sub groups that make up the Oriental category:
Spicy Oriental - includes ingredients such as Cardomom, Ginger and Cinnamon. They give Oriental fragrances warmth and a hint of spice.
Amber Oriental - includes an Amber base and usually has an accompanying Vanilla note made with either Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Benzoin and/or Opoponox.
Fresh Oriental - is a lighter take on the typical Oriental fragrance with lots of Citrus oils usually included to brighten and lift the perfume.
Woody Oriental - includes notes such as Sandalwood, Cedarwood and Patchouli to give the perfume a distinctive woody aroma. This type of fragrance is the most popular in the Oriental family for men.
